This opportunity is open to emerging filmmakers based in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Hat Trick Productions is one of the most successful TV companies in the UK and with support from Northern Ireland Screen, we are on the lookout for a talented Trainee to join the Belfast-based Drama and Entertainment team for 12 months.

Northern Ireland Screen will run a training course aimed at new entrants seeking positions within scripted production, craft or technical departments. For example AD, Locations, Sound, Camera, Electrical, Costume etc.

Aim High is an entrant training scheme for aspiring TV producers. Northern Ireland Screen and BBC Northern Ireland look for motivated and passionate storytellers who can bring fresh ideas to programme-making. The best 15 candidates from the assessment centre will then go on to complete an intensive two week training boot camp where they will be introduced to the craft of storytelling for national and international television production. At the end of the two week boot camp, the 10 candidates showing the most potential will be placed on the scheme in which they will undertake a series of placements in a variety of independent production companies and BBC Northern Ireland. The 5 candidates who don’t secure a position on the scheme will still be provided with invaluable training from the very best of Northern Irish industry talent. This training will set up candidates for a career in the industry, and will remain on Northern Ireland Screen’s radar for future trainee positions.

Nutopia’s work experience scheme is back up and running with a new hybrid set up combining office and home working. Placements last 2 to 4 weeks and are paid at the London Living Wage. Our primary aim is to give participants insight into the production process from development through to post production.

The CNBC Production internship supports the full production cycle of CNBC Catalyst Content Studio commercial/editorially-led projects by assisting with budgeting, H&S requirements, crewing, scheduling, planning and post-production operations. Reporting directly to the Content Studio’s Production Manager, the Production Assistant Intern directly contributes to the development and enhancement of CNBC Catalyst’s high caliber productions in partnership with premium brands.
